About The Artist
Judith Schonbak is a watercolor and
acrylic artist who exhibits regionally and whose work hangs in several
private collections. In her day job, she is an award-winning freelance
writer and editor with more than 25 years experience covering the arts,
business and other subjects. Based in Atlanta, she is a regular contributor
to regional arts and business publications and is the writer and editor for
special projects for various organizations and corporations. She edits art
books and is the editor of the Georgia Watercolor Society quarterly
newsletter and copy editor for “Flourish,” the Atlanta Artists Center
monthly newsletter. She has also worked in television both on and off-camera
as a business reporter.
She is an active member of the Atlanta Artists Center and served on the
board for 10 years in committee chair and officer roles, including president
for two and a-half years (2003-2005) and is a board member of the Georgia
Watercolor Society. She works with individual artists to create their artist
statements and bios and teaches writing workshops for artists: ArtWrite:
Putting Your Art in Words. She is also a member of the Decatur Arts
Alliance.
