A Note from the Artist
I paint in water mediums—watercolor and acrylic--and I love everything about them. Each has its own appeal and joy. Watercolor has luminosity, fluidity and surprises. It captures light and allows freshness and natural, free-flowing color and form. Acrylic lends richness, depth and texture to a painting. Whichever medium I use, I love manipulating the brush and painting the “perfect” color or blend of colors to catch a shadow, render a flower petal or express the strength of a venerable tree, the iridescence of bird or butterfly wings or the power of the ocean and mountains.
My subjects reflect my love of Nature and the spirituality I find in her. I paint scenes that I see daily or in my travels. In each case, it is to share the beauty I find in all that surrounds us.
